Guidelines for Selection of the best Teachers on the eve of the Teacher’s Day Celebrations on 5th September of every year – certain orders issued by the Govt of Telangana.
Director of School Education (DSE), Telangana, Hyderabad/ the Secretary, Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society(TREIS), Hyd, regarding finalising the Head Masters (HMs)/Teachers in Govt./Local Body Schools; Lecturers/Sr. Lecturers in the Institute of Advanced Study in Education (IASE)/Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs)/District Institutes of Education & Training (DIETs) and the Principals/Post Graduate Teachers(PGTs)/ Trained Graduate Teachers(TGTs) in Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society(TREIS) respectively, for the State Awards, to be given on the Teachers Day on 05th September, every year. Government after careful examination of the proposals and in supersession of the orders issued in the reference 1st read above, issue the following orders:-

The following Criteria/Parameters for the selection of Head Masters/Teachers in Govt./ Local Body Schools; Principals/PGTs/ TGTs in TREIS and Lecturers/Sr.Lecturers in IASE/CTE/DIET for the State Awards shall be followed:-

Conditions of eligibility of Head Masters / Teachers working in Govt/Local Body Schools; Principals/PGTs/TGTs working in TREIS and Lecturers/Sr. Lecturers in IASE/CTEs/DIETs for considering for the State Awards:-

1. Gazetted Head Master (HM/GHM) Gr.II with at least 15 years of Teaching experience and for the Teachers 10 years of Teaching experience and who are actually working as (HMs)/ Teachers in Government /Local Body Schools under
2. the School Education Department only shall be considered.
3. Normally, retired teachers are not eligible for the Awards, but those Teachers who have served a part of the academic year may be considered, if they otherwise fulfil the conditions.
4. Lecturers/Senior Lecturers working IASE/DIETs/CTEs, with at least 10 years of teaching experience only shall be considered.
5. Principals with at least 15 years of Teaching experience and for the PGTs/TGTs 10 years of Teaching experience and who are working in Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society(TREIS), only shall be considered.

The Headmasters/Teachers working in Govt/Local Body schools, who have done ‘extraordinary’ work or made ‘extraordinary contribution’ in the following parameters shall be considered:-

1. Teachers/HMs who have done extraordinary work for improving the Gross Enrolment of the School/Class:- Details of last two Academic years- 2016-17 & 2017-18 to be seen.
2. Teachers/ HMs who reduced dropout rate in their schools in the district and achieved least dropout rate for the School/Class compared to the District figures. Details of last two Academic years-2016-17 & 2017-18 to be seen.
3. Teachers/HMs who achieved 100% results in the SSC March exams for the School/Class. Details of students appeared and passed during the past two years i.e., March, 2017 & 2018 to be seen.
4. Teachers/HMs who achieved maximum GPA 9+ results in the SSC March, exams for the School/Class. Details of students appeared and passed during
5. the past two years i.e., March 2017 & 2018 to be seen.
6. Special Awards won by the students of the Schools/Class at the State Level Science Exhibition/ relevant National Level competitions. Details of the last two Academic years -2016-17 & 2017 - 18 to be seen.
7. Important innovations implemented as a Teacher/ HM. Details during the last two Academic years to be seen i.e. 2016-17 & 2017-18.
8. Head Masters who achieved 100% Aadhar seeding for the students and teachers in the school. Details of 2016-17 & 2017-18 to be seen.
9. Teachers/HMs who made important contribution to develop the infrastructure in the schools such as toilet constructions, water supply etc., through CSR, etc., Details of infrastructure facilities developed in the school during the past two Academic Years, 2016-17 and17-18, though CSR funds etc., to be seen.

Teachers/HMs who achieved Outstanding work in ‘Haritha Haram’ Programme or made special efforts to develop Kitchen Garden etc.,

Selection Committees:-

District Level:-

1. District Collector - Chairman.
2. District Educational Officer - Convenor
3. Principal of DIET - Member
4. Any other District level Officer - Member (Nominated by Dist. Collector)

The District Educational Officers shall furnish total three names only,

selected under all these following categories:-

1. Gazetted Head Masters in Govt./Local Body schools, Principals in TREIS.
2. School Assts./ Secondary Grade Teachers and Equivalent cadres working in Govt./ Local Body schools; PGTs/ TGTs working in TREIS
3. Lecturers/ Sr. Lecturers working in IASE/CTEs/DIETs.

Details of plantations taken up in the school and survival of the plants during 2016-17 & 2017- 18 to be seen.
