NMMS/National Means cum Merit Scholarship examination for VIII class students of AP

NMMS Scholarship, National Means cum Merit Scholarship examination, NMMS Exam Dates, Eligibility to appear NMMS Exam, Application process to apply NMMS, Exam pattern of NMMS, 8th class students can appear NMMS Exam to get scholarship, Respective state Examination Board will issue the Notification for NMMS Examination, Application for NMMS Examination can be submitted online in Examination Board website with school login.  Examination will be conducted to 8th class students, If selected in NMMS exam, then the student will get scholarships up to 12th class study.

Exam Centers:
All the Head quarters of the 13 Districts in Andhra Pradesh.

Qualifying percentage for NMMS is as follows

The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40% and in case of SC/ST students this cut off will be 32%.
Selection will be made as per the merit subject to district wise and community wise quota allotted as per norms issued by MHRD New Delhi.

Who can apply NMMS:

A candidate who scored at least 55% of marks in case of OC/BC & 50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH OR equivalent grade i.e. B+ for all categories in  class VII examination of the year 2018-19 and has been promoted to class VII for the academic year 2019-20. in respect of SC/ST candidate they should have secured at least 50% or  its equivalent grade.

Student who studied in Government, Local Body(ZP/Municipal), Government Aided, ZP Model Schools and MPUP Running with 8th class schools are eligible to appear NMMS Examination.

Those candidates are eligible whose parental annual income(Both parents put together) is below Rs. 1,50,000/- from all sources for which candidates have to produce latest original annual income certificate issued by the MRO, in case of private employee and . in case of Govt employee salary certificate will be enough as a proof of income issued by the employer.

Date of Examination:

National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination for Class VIII will be conducted on 03-11-2019 (Sunday) from 10 AM to 1 PM.

    Fee for NMMS:

    1. General and BC candidates: Rs.100/-
    2. SC/ST candidates Rs. 50/-
    3. Exam fee can be paid through SBI collect while applying online.



    Guidelines:

    Application form should be registered online in Board of Secondary Education(TS) website (Link given below) as explained in user guide.

    One lakh scholarships @ Rs.12000/- per annum (Rs.1000/- per month) are awarded to selected students of class IX every year and their continuation/renewal in classes X to XII for study in State Government, Government-aided and Local body schools under the scheme.

    There is quota of scholarships for different States/UTs.

    Students whose parental income from all sources is not more than Rs. 1,50,000/- per annum are eligible to avail the scholarships.

    The students shall have minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VII examination for appearing in selection test for award of scholarship (Relaxable by 5% for SC/ST).

    At the time of selection for the award of scholarship the candidate must have scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. There will be 5 % relaxation for SC/ST.

    For continuing the scholarship in class X and XII, the awardees should get clear promotion from class IX to class X and from class XI to class XII in the first attempt with 55% marks (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST).The students should continue their studies in Government, Government aided, local bodies i.e. ZP, municipal schools, and Modal schools which have no residential facility. The awardees must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in Class X (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) examination or equivalent examination for continuation of the scholarship at higher secondary stage.

    Each State/UT conducts its own test for selection of students for the award of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The State Level Examination consists of the following two tests.(i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
