Mid Day Meals Cooking cost Enhanced in Telangana

Government of India vide reference 2nd read above has informed that it has been decided to increase the cooking cost under National Programme of Mid Day Meal in schools, by 5.35% w.e.f. 1st April, 2018, for the year 2018-19 over and above the existing cooking cost. The rates of the cooking cost admissible w.e.f. 01.04.2018 during 2018-19 for Primary and Upper Primary Classes would be as under :-

In the references 3rd read above, the Director of School Education, Telangana, Hyderabad, has stated that during the year 2018-19, Government provided separate budget provision of Rs.103.00 Crores in the Budget Estimates of 2018-19 to provide egg thrice in a week @ Rs.4/- per egg under the Head of Account: 2236-01-101-12-50-500/503 for Classes I to VIII. He has requested the Government to issue orders for enhancement of cooking cost under National Program of Mid Day Meal Scheme for Primary schools from Rs.4.13/- to Rs.4.35/- (excluding egg cost) and for Upper Primary schools from Rs. 6.18/- to Rs. 6.51/- (excluding egg cost) and for Classes IX & X from Rs.6.18/- to Rs.6.51/- on par with Upper Primary sections + Rs.2/- (Cost of egg per day) i.e., Rs.8.51/- w.e.f. 01.04.2018. 

After careful examination of the proposal, Government hereby enhance the Cooking Cost under National Programme of Mid Day Meal Scheme w.e.f. 01.04.2018 as per Govt. of India norms, as indicated below : -

1. for Primary Schools, the cooking cost is enhanced from Rs.4.13/- to Rs.4.35/- (excluding egg cost) and for Upper Primary schools, the cooking cost is enhanced from Rs.6.18/- to Rs.6.51/- (excluding egg cost); and
2. for Classes IX & X, the cooking cost is enhanced from Rs.6.18/- to Rs.6.51/- on par with Upper Primary sections + Rs.2/- (Cost of egg per day) i.e., Rs.8.51/-.

This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (EBS.IV) Department vide their U.O.No. 10754/173/A1/EBS IV/SE/2018, Dt: 01.03.2019.
