Examination will be conducted to 10th class students, If selected in NTSE exam, then the student will get scholarships.
The National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X is meant to identify the nurture talent. the Examination is conducted every year at two levels. i.e. Stage-I (State Level) and Stage-II (National Level)

Who can apply NTSE
The students who are studying 10th class current in current academic year 2018-19 in any recognised school in Telangana state including KVS & schools affiliated to ICSE & CBSE.Fee for NTSE
- Rs100/- per candidate should be paid through chalan at any Treasury branch.
- DDs are not acceptable
NTSE Selection Process
Stage-I selection will be done by States/UTs and those who are selected/recommended from Stage-1 examination, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination which will conducted by NCERT.
Qualifying Marks in NTSE Examination
Qualifying marks for candidates from SC/ST/PH category is 32% in each paper and for others(General/OBC & EWS) categories it is 40% in each paper.
Eligibility to Appear NTSE
All students studying in Class X in any type of recognized school including Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Sainik School etc. will be eligible to appear at the State Level Examination from the State in which the school is located. However, no domicile restriction shall be imposed. The state may impose any other eligibility condition for appearing in the screening examination like any qualifying percentage of marks in the previous annual examination etc. Students registered under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are also eligible for scholarship provided the students are below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July of that particular year) the students is not employed and they are appearing in class X for the first time.
Guidelines:
- Application form should be registered online in Board of Secondary Education(TS) website (Link given below) as explained in user guide.
- One lakh scholarships @ Rs.12000/- per annum (Rs.1000/- per month) are awarded to selected students of class IX every year and their continuation/renewal in classes X to XII for study in State Government, Government-aided and Local body schools under the scheme.
- There is quota of scholarships for different States/UTs.
- Students whose parental income from all sources is not more than Rs. 1,50,000/- per annum are eligible to avail the scholarships.
- The students shall have minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VII examination for appearing in selection test for award of scholarship (Relaxable by 5% for SC/ST).
- At the time of selection for the award of scholarship the candidate must have scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. There will be 5 % relaxation for SC/ST.
- For continuing the scholarship in class X and XII, the awardees should get clear promotion from class IX to class X and from class XI to class XII in the first attempt with 55% marks (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST).The students should continue their studies in Government, Government aided, local bodies i.e. ZP, municipal schools, and Modal schools which have no residential facility. The awardees must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in Class X (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) examination or equivalent examination for continuation of the scholarship at higher secondary stage.
- Each State/UT conducts its own test for selection of students for the award of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The State Level Examination consists of the following two tests.(i) Mental Ability Test (MAT) (ii) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
