The Income Tax (IT) Department is launching a new e-filing portal to provide better services to taxpayers. The new portal www.incometax.gov.in will be available from 7th June, 2021.
The IT department is confident that with the help of the new e-portal, taxpayers will be able to complete their returns process more easily and conveniently.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has said that it is phasing out the currently available e-filing portal from the beginning of next month, from 1st June 2021 to 6th June 2021, for six days.
There will be a six-day back-out period in order to change the old e-portal from www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in to the new e-portal www.incometaxgov.in.
Therefore, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has directed the taxpayers to complete the required tasks (if any, submit, upload, download) by 1st June 2021.
