Recruitment of paramedical ophthalmic officers for Kanti Velugu
Government of Telangana embarked on a Noble Project of achieving avoidable blindness free status by conducting a Comprehensive and Universal Eye Screening for the entire population of Telangana under the title Telangana Kanti Velugu.
The salient features of Telangana Kanti Velugu
Universal Eye Screening to be done for all the citizens of Telangana.
All cases that require correction of Refraction Errors, Spectacles to be distributed free of cost
Surgeries will be organised in all cases of Cataract, Glaucoma, Retinopathy, corneal disorders etc.
All services will be provided free of cost
Accordingly, a detailed programme has been drawn up, to conduct Eye Camps in the State which will be on the following Eye ailments and will be treated as a part of Universal Eye Care
Refraction Errors
Cataract
Vitamin A Deficiency
Eye infections
Glaucoma
Corneal Disorders
Diabetic Retinopathy
Each Camp will be conducted by a Medical team, comprising of a Medical Officer, 2-3MPHS (Male) & (Female), 1-2 Optometrists, Pharmacist, 2-3 ASHA Workers and a Data Entry Operator.
Each team will be equipped with the requisite devices, material and drugs to provide services
Camps will be conducted in all Gram Panchayats in Rural areas and in all wards in Urban areas. In each camp, data of all the persons walking in for treatment will be captured electronically on a specially developed software so as to accurately track follow up services for surgery as well as distribution of glasses
The expected out reach of Telangana Kanti Velugu
Total Population to be covered : 3.5 Crores
Number of Glasses to be provided : 41,05,808
Number of people to be given Primary Care : 77,768
Number of people to be given Secondary Care : 3,31,178
Number of people to be given Tertiary Care : 14,283
In order to implement the above programme, Commissioner of Health & Family Welfare, Telangana, Hyderabad has submitted proposals as per which the total required Budget Estimate worked to Rs.106.8392 crores
The Government of Telangana has accorded permission to engage the Paramedical Ophthalmic Officers on outsourcing basis to work in Kantivelugu Programme – 2023.
The District Collectors in the State are requested to take necessary action to engage the services of Paramedical Ophthalmic Officers on outsourcing basis by following norms prescribed and as per the timelines given.
Guidelines for recruitment of Paramedical Ophthalmic Officers on outsourcing basis to work in Kantivelugu Phase-II Program.
1) Applications shall be invited by the respective District Selection Committees headed by the District Collectors.
2) The district wise number of Paramedical Ophthalmic Officers requirement is appended as Annexure-A.
3) Priority to be given to PMOOs who have functional AR machines. Monthly rental amount shall be given by the DMHOs at the rate communicated by the government.
4) The selection shall be done through walk-in-interview basis at the District level.
5) Remuneration: The remuneration payable is Rs 30,000/- per month.
Qualifications Required:
Two years Diploma Holder of DOA/DOM. Registration with TS Paramedical Board.
