Indian Navy Quiz Thinq-24
The Indian Navy takes immense pride in announcing the flagship event, THINQ 2024, a unique national-level quiz competition. It aims to provide young minds with a unique opportunity to experience the ‘way of life’ of the Indian Navy, instilling a sense of national pride and patriotism while testing their knowledge and intellect.
Who can participate
The quiz is open to all students in classes IX to XII in schools in India, irrespective of the affiliation mode or region.
Theme of THINQ-24.
(a) The theme of THINQ-24 is ‘Viksit Bharat’. In addition, general questions on the Indian Navy will also be asked to the Participants.
(b)The Questions will cover various topics such as current affairs, sports, history, science, geography, arts, books, entertainment, and the Indian Navy.
(c) THINQ-24 will comprise of Preliminary Rounds, Zonal Selection Round, Semi-Finals and Finals.
Criteria for Participation in Quiz
The quiz is open to all students enrolled in classes IX to XIl in respective schools, and for all the schools in India, irrespective of the affiliation mode or region.
Each school can field only one team. Each team must comprise of two team members.
Both students of each team must be enrolled in the same school. They can register only through their respective schools.
Inter-class teams are allowed. For example, a team can consist of a Class IX student and a Class XIl student.
Registration Process for THINQ-24.
(a) All teams must register online to take part in THINQ-24 quiz.
(b) Registration for the quiz must be done by the school staff only. The Registration Portal must be understood thoroughly by the school prior to registration. No fields marked mandatory are to be left without filling.
(c) Students are not permitted to register themselves for THINQ-24.
(d) The students participating in THINQ-24 are to be in possession of a valid Identity Card of the respective school at the time of Registration. Details of the School Identity card will have to be furnished at the time of registration.
(e) If selected for the Semi-finals, then the teams will have to be accompanied by a teacher from respective schools. Details of the accompanying teacher will be gathered by THINQ-24 team post completion of the Zonal round and finalisation of teams for the Semi-Finals.
Conduct of Preliminary Rounds of THINQ-24.
(a) It is expected that about 20000 schools will be participating in THINQ-24. The schools will be distributed among four Zones, ie, North, East, West and South.
(b) The preliminary round is open to all the registered teams and will comprise of Elimination Round 1 (ER 1), Elimination Round 2 (ER 2) and Elimination Round 3 (ER 3). The top 50% of schools from each Zones will proceed from ER 1 to ER 2. Top 20% of schools from each Zones will proceed from ER 2 to ER 3. Finally, top 20% of schools from each Zones will proceed from ER 3 to the Zonal Selection Round.
(c) The ER 1, ER 2, and ER 3 will be conducted online. THINQ-24 will be hosted on a Quiz platform accessible through any popular web browser. It is recommended that participants of respective schools use Google Chrome or Edge browsers for accessing the Quiz platform online.
(d) It is also recommended that participants attempt the quiz on a laptop or desktop.
Conduct of Zonal Selection Round of THINQ-24.
(a) As mentioned above, the top 20% of schools from each Zones will proceed from ER 3 to the Zonal Selection Round.
(b)The Zonal Selection Round will be conducted online using the video calling software Zoom and Kahoot, hosted by a quizmaster.
(c)Detailed information regarding these rounds will be communicated only with the teams that have qualified for the Zonal Selection Round. A total of sixteen teams (Four Teams from each Zones) will qualify from the Zonal Selection Round for the Semi-Finals.
(d)Both members of the team must join the Zoom session from the same location, using a single laptop or desktop computer.
Conduct of Semi-Finals and Finals of THINQ-24.
(a) As mentioned above, A total of sixteen teams (Four Teams from each Zones) will qualify from the Zonal Selection Round for the Semi-Finals. The Semi-Finals and Grand Finale of THINQ-24 will be conducted by the Southern Naval Command of the Indian Navy.
(b) Semi-Finals and the Grand Finale of THINQ-24 will be in the offline mode.
(c) The top Eight Teams from the Semi-finals will qualify for the Grand Finale.
(d) Detailed information regarding the conduct of the Semi-Final and Final will be intimated to the qualifying teams at a later stage.
General Rules of THINQ-24.
(a) The students participating in THINQ-24 are to be in possession of a valid Identity Card of the respective school at the time of Registration and during conduct of the THINQ-24 rounds.
(b) A team may be disqualified from the competition at any stage if they fail to produce the same within the stipulated time.
(c) A team may be disqualified at any stage if found using unfair means to answer questions.
Travel and Stay Arrangements.
(a) The travelling and stay arrangements will be catered for the Semi-Finalists and Finalists by the Indian Navy. The arrangements will be undertaken for each of the sixteen Semi-final teams comprising 02 students and one accompanying teacher.
(b) Details regarding travel and stay arrangements will be communicated by the Indian Navy to the teams qualifying for Semi-Finals and Finals.
Awards and Prizes for THINQ-24.
(a) The winners will be recognised and honored with exciting prizes.
(b) Mementos, gifts and participation certificates will be awarded to all the Semi-Finalists.
(c) Participation certificates will be forwarded to all the teams who have qualified for the Zonal Selection Round of THINQ-24.
(d) Considering the fervor of the event, the semi-finalist and finalists may be engaged in activities which would encourage understanding of the culture, heritage and natural beauty of the state of Kerala. The detailed agenda of such activities will be intimated subsequently.
(d) In addition, the semi-finalists and finalists would be given an opportunity to visit Indian Naval Ships, Establishments, Training Facilities, Naval Aircraft and would be introduced to the Naval way of life.
